The Art of Losing to Win

This puzzle is a misère (French for "misery") variation of the Bash Game. In this version, the winning condition is flipped: the player who is forced to take the last stone loses. This simple change dramatically alters the strategy, especially as the game nears its end.

You and the AI will again take turns removing stones from a pile. But this time, your goal is to avoid taking the last one. Can you outsmart the AI and make it take the final, unlucky stone?

Level 1

Rule: 12 stones, take 1-3. The one who takes the last stone LOSES.
